Campaign Kick Off
We launch the month of purple on November 1st, 2017 with a reception, featuring guest speaker Detective Constable Lisa Daugherty of the Durham Region Police Services, Domestic Violence Unit. Beverages will be provided.
Ceremony: 6:00pm at Civic Square, East Courtyard entrance Oshawa City Hall at 50 Centre St., Oshawa
Reception: 6:30pm at the Oshawa Public Library (across from City Hall/Civic Square), 65 Bagot St., Oshawa

Wear Purple Day
Individuals are invited to wear purple to their workplaces and schools. Women’s advocates will participate in the day by speaking at various events to raise awareness about the issues of all forms of violence against women.

We invite community members to create a deck of personalized art cards with symbols and words of hope and solidarity cards that they can trade or give to others to remind women who have experienced or are experiencing abuse that they are not alone.
